When will the 58th Annual Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning be held?
The 58th Annual Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning will be held in Orlando, FL on January 8-12, 2024. 

When will registration for the 58th Annual Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning open?
Registration will open on August 22, 2023.  

When will hotel reservations be available at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort and Convention Center?
Hotel reservations will open on August 9, 2023.  

How do I register and what are the rates for the Institute?
To register for the Institute, please visit our website www.law.miami.edu/heckerling. Advance online registration is required. Credit card payments only. Register by Friday, November 10, 2023 to be included on the Institute Registration List.

Early Registration Fee: $1,125 (Registrations received prior to September 23, 2023)
Regular Registration Fee: $1,175 (Registrations received on or after September 23, 2023)

Is there an online/virtual option?
Yes, you can either attend the Institute live in person or virtually. The registration rate is the same for either option.

How do I receive access to the virtual platform?
Approximately one week prior to the Institute, all registered attendees will receive a password protected link via email to access and download the Institute materials. The materials will be available on the Institute platform until February 12, 2024. The conference materials are copyrighted and may not be duplicated, reused, or shared without the written consent of the Heckerling Institute. Attendees will also be able to view recorded videos of all the sessions on the Institute platform through February 12, 2024. 

How do I make a hotel reservation?
To make your hotel reservation Online, please visit the Hotel Page on our website.  To reserve by phone, reference “Heckerling Institute” when making your reservation.  

When does the 58th Heckerling Institute begin and end?
The first lecture begins on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 10:00a.m. The Institute concludes on Friday, January 12, 2024, 12:20p.m. with the Wrap-up Session.

Do you have a daily schedule available for the Institute?
Yes, please feel free to print the "Institute At-A-Glance" and bring it with you! For additional details about each session please refer to the "Institute Brochure".

Will continuing education credit available?
Yes, continuing education credit will be available. Please check the Continuing Education page of our website for specific details regarding your profession and jurisdiction. All attendees must submit the Proof of Attendance form by January 19, 2024 to request continuing education credit. Virtual attendees will be required to confirm their real-time participation during each session by responding to polling questions. Attendees will only receive CE credit for one program format, either live in-person or virtual in real-time.

Will attendees be able to view the sessions after the live presentations? 
Attendees will also be able to view recorded videos of all the sessions on the Institute platform through February 12, 2024. Continuing education credit will be granted only for sessions attended live in person or virtually in real-time.

When is the last day I can access the virtual platform to watch the video recordings or download Institute materials?
The materials will be available on the Institute platform until February 12, 2024. Can I purchase printed materials or a USB Flash Drive?
Printed materials and USB Flash Drive will not be available.

When can I pick up my badge?
The Registration Desk will open on Sunday, January 7th from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort & Convention.  Attendees enjoy picking up their badge while they network with colleagues the afternoon before the Institute opens. 
The Registration Desk will reopen on Monday, January 8th at 8:00 a.m. and Tuesday - Friday at 8:30 a.m.

What does the registration fee include?
Educational Programming Monday - Friday
Institute Materials:  Approximately one week prior to the Institute, all registered attendees will receive a password protected link via email to access and download the Institute materials. The materials will be available on the Institute platform until February 12, 2024.
Daily Continental Breakfast: 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. in the Exhibit Hall
Daily Networking Breaks: Located in the Exhibit Hall
Institute Welcome Reception: Monday 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Exhibit Hall
Exhibit Hall: Access to our unique exhibit hall featuring the latest in technology, goods, and services available to estate planning professionals.
Daily Transportation: Complimentary shuttle to and from the Marriott Village during programing hours Monday - Friday.

How far is the airport from the hotel?
The hotel is approximately 18 miles or 30 minutes from the airport.

How much is a taxi/shuttle from the airport?
From the Orlando International Airport to the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort a taxi is approximately $45 one-way.

What is the attire?
Business casual

Can I get a list of Institute attendees ahead of time?
You may access the list of attendees (registered by November 10, 2023) on the virtual platform under "Registration List".  

What is the cancellation policy and fee?
To cancel your registration, please send an email to Heckerling@law.miami.edu. Registration fees are refundable (less a $150 administrative fee) if written notice is received by Tuesday, December 19, 2023.

Can I transfer my registration to someone else if I cannot attend?
Please click on the Transfer Registration link and complete the form.  

Can I switch my current registration from In-Person to Virtual (or Virtual to In-person)?
Yes, please click on the Switch Registration link and complete the form.  You will receive a confirmation email.
